Highly fragrant, slightly toasty bouquet, leading into a peachy, sweet-fruited palate in the classic regional style. Shows excellent concentration and complexity.' Michael Cooper has classified the Odyssey Reserve Iliad Gisborne Chardonnay as an Icon Wine,in his book 'Classic Wines of New Zealand.' Previous Vintage 2004...Pale straw. Beautifully fragrant, toasty, mealy, slightly minerally, complex bouquet. Rich yet refined palate, with delicate peach, pear and citrus fruit flavours, complex and layered. Slightly buttery and toasty, with good spine, structure and length. Notably complete, softly textured wine. Still youthful and will mature well. |
